Editorial Policy
How TheGameTake sources stories, verifies facts, and handles editorial independence.
Last updated: 2026-10-11
Clear takes, real sources
We aim to publish useful, accurate game news with enough context for readers to assess it. Reporting, opinion, and speculation should be clearly distinguishable.
Sourcing and verification
We prioritize official sources such as developer and publisher announcements, patch notes, release pages, and direct statements. We also use reputable reporting, credit the outlet, and link to the original source where possible.
We check names, dates, platforms, and other central claims before publication. When a claim is unconfirmed or sources disagree, we say so. Rumors are not presented as established facts.
Editorial independence
We do not present paid placement as news. Any sponsored content must be clearly labeled and kept distinct from independent reporting. If we use affiliate links in the future, we will disclose them clearly in the relevant content so readers know that purchases may earn us a commission.
AI-assisted work
AI-assisted drafting may be part of our workflow. A human must verify factual claims against real sources before publication and remains responsible for the final article. AI output is not a source or a substitute for verification.
Corrections and updates
We welcome corrections and update articles when facts change or errors are found. Significant corrections receive a note explaining what changed. See our Corrections page.
